The Department of
Child, Youth and Family Studies (CYAF) is committed to enhancing the well-being
of children, youth, adults and families in the state, nation and world by
improving the environments in which they live and learn.
The Department
offers the following undergraduate major areas of study:
- Early Childhood Education in a
Mobile Society
- Child, Youth and Family
Studies/Journalism & Mass Communications
- Family
and Consumer Sciences Education

- Inclusive Early Childhood
Education: Birth to Grade 3
The graduate
program in CYAF leads to either a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Child,
Youth and Family Studies or a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Human
Sciences.
