Context and Motivation
The idea to create the Center comes to complement the achievementsmade on the ground, carried out in support for the family and childhood, achievements that made possible the availability of a developable database.
The Centre for Gender Studies (CGS) at the Faculty of Arts promotes research and education on gender in relation to other categories of difference such as sexuality, class, race, religion, culture, ability, and age.

This objective functions as the point of departure for researchers from a variety of disciplines.
http://www.cgs.ugent.be/enMay 2016 marked the 125th anniversary of the graduation of the first woman to earn a degree at WVU. The Center for Women's and Gender Studies, in conjunction with other WVU departments and programs, celebrated this anniversary throughout the year.
